They say the south is going to do it again but I really don't know what they did in the first place. If it hadn't been for the slavery thing I would have let them secede.

Anyone ever read about the attempt to kidnap Lincoln's body for ransom? Makes for a pretty incredible tale.

I can remember reading an account in Life (I think) Magazine in the early sixties when I was a kid about a guy still living who was just a boy in 1901 when they opened up Lincoln's coffin just prior to his last, and final internment. They wanted to quell any rumors that his body wasn't actually in the coffin. He was inside and actually in pretty good shape according to accounts of those present.
