Default Official RIP (insert name here) thread.

What a brutal past couple of weeks it's been. Lemme, Bowie, Rickman, Nathalie Cole, Schneider from One Day at a Time, and now Dan Haggerty formerly Grizzly Adams. On top of all this Mel Tillis looks like he might not pull through after surgery at the age of 83.

I thought we might as well have an official thread to announce these events in. Seems some of us are getting older now, and if we don't get to the obits every day at least we'll find out who's who here.

Sounds like a good idea. People are going to die. That's one thing we can't all argue about.

Zsa Zsa is never going to die. I had her for several years in a dead pool. Her condition appeared beyond dead, but she wasn't. I dominated those pools every single year most of the time clearing over 65% of my roster. One time I nailed two in one day!

Yet, she slipped from my grasp every single time. One of the other guys in the pool obviously thought 2013 was going to be my year to end her birthday parties. It wasn't.

If we allow ourselves to entertain the possibility of an essence, consciousness, or spirit enduring after the physical body no longer functions, yes we can argue!

One that simply blows me away is Abe Vigoda. He always looked to be circling the drain on Barney Miller (IN THE 70s!).

As stated in another thread, I thought Dan Haggerty died many years ago. Not sure what I've got going on there.

True enough. Abe was another one on my roster a few times. Definitely a coveted team member in any dead pool. Always disappointed.

My understanding is that he'd begun doing serious amounts of crack and alcohol just prior to his death, rather than heroine which was his drug of choice for much of his adult life. Fellow band member got busted for possession after cops found crack on their bus.

When Keith Richards actually does die, the world is going to spin right off its axis.

Plush is my favorite song from STP. I play a real hacky acoustic version of it that I may share with PT one day. Not to throw this good thread off track, but if any PT guitar players want to hear a pretty decent cover of a lot of 90's grunge music, check out nate101 on you tube.

On the flip side, Abe Vigoda is still with us and in my opinion, looks better than Keith Richards.

94 years young. Wow. That's more than twice as long as I've been alive.

Geez, not a fan of her music but this is brutal. Celine Dion's hubby died two days ago, then today her own brother dies. Both from cancer.

Yeah that's a tough pill to swallow. Isn't she something like 1 of 15 kids? When you hit a certain age with that many siblings you can almost expect to attend a yearly funeral for one of them.

I took the significant other to see John Fogerty at Venetian Hotel & Casino last Wed. in LVNV.
John may have been born in California but his band was deep rooted in South Louisiana. It's just so incredible to me how nice, casual & humble this legendary song writer, story teller ultimate front man is.

John received a Standing Ovation for his performance to a sell out crowd. He played lead guitar, rhythm guitar, piano & hamonica. His Encore song was Fortunate Son the name of tour. I and many felt like we were the fortunate son to see him live. Rob
