That was a shocker to me. Chris Cornell was a major talent and influence from the grunge era. It was probably fifteen years after the peak of that era that I began appreciating the music from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Tool, Alice in Chains, and many others.

And even though it's become passť to strum STP's Plush on my busted up guitar, or pick my hacky rendition of AIC's Rooster, the music definitely speaks to me. And yep, I'll continue to be that guy singing along to Black Hole Sun.

RIP Chris Cornell.

My 16 yr old daughter and her mom saw Soundgarden a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta. As soon as the show started she ditched her mom and planted herself on the third row (that's my girl). I saw them in the late nineties. Cornell was a talented dude, I'll never get it.

Man, it was confirmed. He sounded excited for his recent and upcoming shows, and I think Soundgarden was working on a new album.

Beard guy from Walk Off The Earth shares his short cover of "Black Hole Sun".. Pretty good stuff Beard Guy. THANKS.

In honor of Chris Cornell, I toasted with a couple of beers and played along to this:

That's weird. I can see all the vids. Didn't even get the old "This video has not been made available in your country" thing.

Perhaps Eddie Vedder will not go the way of his grunge singing cohorts and actually manage to stay alive for a while?

Stone Temple Pilots...Scot Weiland....dead
Nirvana...Kurt Cobain...dead
Alice in Chains...Layne Staley...dead
Soundgarden...Chris Cornell...dead
Pearl Jam...Eddie Vedder...?

My goodness, Keith Richards must just shake his head at this news.
