Interesting to see how many at PT use a reference to a dog in either their name or avatar. Contractors of all types seem to have an affinity for them so thought maybe some here might consider posting a picture or two of their canine pals - even if they've done so before.

Mine is a 12 year old Welsh Corgi named Patch. Third Corgi we've owned. Not a really big dog but tough and extremely smart. Great family dogs.

Chris,
The "thanks" was to acknowledge your post - not a commentary on the condition of your dog. Sorry to hear about her decline. Patch is starting to show signs of cataracts - almost universal in older dogs.

Also, sorry about your cat. We had to put one of ours down the Thanksgiving before last. We still have two whose hobby is tormenting the dog - and vice versa.

You were one of those I was thinking of when I started the thread. Hope some others contribute.

Yeah - it's weird how their expressions can sometimes seem so human.

Seems very fitting. Our dog hates the snow. The cats won't even go out.

That's just a dessicated old pot roast you found in the back of your fridge. It even has mold on it! You can't fool me.

We have all but settled on a Corgi for our next pup. We've done quite a bit of research and it seems like a great fit for us. I guess since this is your 3rd Corgi that you know quite a bit about them.

It may be a year or three before we make the move and we're starting look at breeders now.

Any tips?

Doing what you're doing now - locate a good reputable breeder is probably the most important thing to do. Get a few books (I can PM you a few titles if you want) on them to familiarize yourself with the breed's traits. Sounds like you've had dogs before - I'd never recommend a Corgi to someone who hasn't ever owned a dog. As a working breed they are pretty strong willed so you need to know how to take control before they do.

You've probably all heard it, but...

Wanna find out who loves you more...your dog or your wife?

Locked them both in the trunk of your car overnight.

When you open the trunk the next morning, only one of them will be happy to see you.

(the other one will only want to kill you)
