Default Please accept my apology

I just learned we are not to talk politics or religion in the other areas. I mentioned Jesus Christ in responding to a CApainter. If I had known this prior I would not have mentioned my religious beliefs. Please accept my apology. I look forward in discussing politics or religion in the prefered section. Thank you!

Ps I just figured out how to make my own blogs. What a great site this is.

Actually you can post politics and religion.

Let the mods delete it overnight. They get paid well.

Just so you know, Rent was kidding. Well, I assume he was.

However, we do have the Outhouse sub-forum where politics and religion can be discussed.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I can not discuss politics or religion in this blog. I look forward in discussing politics or religion in the appropriate blog area. Thank you

I'm still trying to figure out how you have the time around here with running a couple of crews. It really isn't necessary to comment on every post in every thread but, if that's what trips your trigger have at it. Hopefully you did take the time to read the forum rules by now.

If you got the impression that I run multiple crews I apologize. I have a crew! I am from California. Have you noticed the unusual amount of rain we are getting? I don't know about you but I make it a practice to not paint in the rain.

Did I break any rules? Is there a post limit? If I did not break any rules I don't know why I am being reprimanded. I will respect you, the members and the rules.

You're doing fine, just a little more active than most. You don't have to say hi to everyone. And you don't want to get too defensive because there are plenty of strong opinions around here and clashes are going to happen. At least they aren't deleting your posts. I think I'm up to 2-3 posts deleted now. Either my humor isn't appreciated or they think I'm too new to be that open/unreserved. Cheers!

It's one, and it was due to the double whammy of combining politics and religion in one post in the open forums. Highly frowned upon as it creates formidable amounts of tension and drama.

I was hoping jerr would contribute to the political and religious zone. I think it would be interesting to read his position on either subject. And say what you will about politics and religion, it can bond some like minds despite differences in other matters.

But tension and drama are exactly what you need in a thread like this to elevate it to an epitragic comedy! People need to relax and enjoy life without getting so worked up over a joke, especially an obvious one.

While in some circumstances I'd agree wholeheartedly. It really hasn't gone over well in the past and ended up turning things into a serious train wreck. Thus, we've relegated even the mention of such discussions to 'the outhouse'.

I think as volatile and as passionate as it can get when discussing politics and religion, it also reveals some of the most honest thought. Especially when you don't have to tip toe around the subject, like you do in a general setting. The "outhouse" allows honesty for some, even though it may repel others.

But even in the outhouse, there is a decorum. For example, you can discuss why you don't agree with a person's position on the subject of religion, but we shouldn't condemn them for it. The idea is to express opinions, not change minds. If that happens to occur, so be it.

And although we often accuse or imply that one side of the political spectrum is more ignorant than the other, it remains more impersonal than the more personal choice of a religious belief or abstention from. Particularly given how subjective and interpretive the discussion of religion can develop into.

Trouble is, what someone may post as a joke, others may interpret as a serious comment. Hence references to politics and religion have just been relegated to one place - which is one more than there used to be.
