This is like entering some real adult entertainment venue. It's kind of scary.

Only if you smack yourself on the forehead and ask to be healed.

Why don't you test this out and get back to us with the results?

So, why make it a private club to begin with? If you want conversations then why not open it up so others can see and join in? If you want more people to be engaged in the forum allow them to see the sandbox.

Otherwise it just seems to be too constricted and continues the same stagnation. Whether its pricing, religion, or politics, guests shouldn't have to figure out which fork to pick up. Open it up and make it a forum again.

It was already a private area. That hasn't changed. Not everyone wants these types of discussions public or searchable in Google.

There are some guys like me that as soon as we see behind the curtains of people we like, well, I've become disillusioned on other forums knowing views that shouldn't be known, and I never go back.

My vote is to make it as difficult to see as possible. I don't want to accidentally stumble onto it.

I respect your stance, but I'm sure others like to watch a train wreck. Or what I will term VVVV: Voluntary Vicarious Voyeuristic Viewing

It just occurred to me that I may have sounded sanctimonious. I intended to sound condescending.

Lol, not really. I meant to say that I love to read the comments below the culture war articles. Incredibly enlightening and entertaining.
I just don't want folks to poop in MY yard.
Plus I want to maintain my illusions of all you guys.
