Default Something missing

Has anyone else noticed that something seems to be missing from Painttalk lately? I just can't seem to be able to figure out what it is, but something just seems......different. Calm almost.

Could add Oden, Ole, and Ewing among others. I guess a lot of people are over at Facebook.

But na, nothing's missing really. Just the ebb and flow of the forum. Winter is almost here, it'll pick up soon.

Since I don't facebook, I really don't understand its dynamics. But, I have a sense it's a convenient site in terms of maneuvering from one interest to the another.

In other words, I'm not so certain there is that much more engaging discussions about painting going on over there, as there is the ability to horsesh!t a little about the trade then go check on what that dreaded niece of yours has recently posted about her bratty kid, or view pics of the meal your brother ate at Red Snappers. All at the convenience of one site.

Given that I could care less what my family members are doing at any given moment of the day, having PT suits my social interest just fine. That and the porne sites of course

No. It's more like my hacky little way of bypassing the language restrictions. Apparently, you got asterisked. lol! However, I do wear an evening robe while viewing paintalk.

What's missing along with the above mentioned members is not only their insight but the sense of humor they had within their posts. I think everybody needs to lighten up a little bit and enjoy each other....... Just sayin......

I don't believe you can just enjoy someone if you're not feeling it. And I don't necessarily believe that's evidence of a lack of lightening up, as much as it's just the right to view things differently from someone else. In other words, popular social media sites aren't popular for their Utopianism, despite the misguided impression that anyone gives a rats booty about what that braggart cousin of Leanora's did on her vacation.

Seriously, are any of you folks on the PT fb page? I've checked it out a few times and all I've seen is a bunch of folks I don't recognize chattering on about virtually nothing. That being said, I'm not a big fb'er, so maybe I'm wrong.

Nope. Never viewed it. Maybe Paint Talk isn't in the fast lane of social media, but you sure can enjoy it much better at it's country road pace. That's my opinion.

Haven't seen it. I tried finding something like this on Facebook, but all I found was the Facebook page for this page.

I've never looked at the pt page but honest to God the painterschatroom, the first painters forum that's now virtually dead, has a very good and active group.

I find it to be more of a Behr/SW hippie love fest then this forum is. With lots more pretty pictures and ads. I'm just waiting for the "plastic or metal paint tray" debate to start up on there.

I just hope we get a Christmas visit from Steve Richards and maybe he'll finally get at his seasonal marathon that he promised us years ago.

Talk about a sense of humor. The so called "Steve Richards" was an original. I envy other sites who are enjoying his presence. After all, he IS a slave to social media.
