Default Stolen credit card

Yesterday was a bit interesting for me. I go a text about a paint job. A bunch of yellow and red flags on this one.

This scammer was the best I have seen so far. He looked up homes for sale in my area and gave me the address with details of what to paint. The home the scammer picked just so happen to be friends of mine and yes the home is for sale but no buyers.

I messed with the scammer until he gave me the credit card info. I then proceeded to track down the actual owner. Hours on the phone I was able to get Visa to get me the bank info and bank fraud department. I called the bank and it just happens the manager knows the card owner. The bank put a hold on the credit card until the owner goes into the bank.

In the end I told the scammer what I did, he couldn't believe what I told him. At 4:30 this morning I got an f-off text then the scammers phones were disconnected.

If any of you besides me has had your bank info stolen you don't know until you go to pay a bill or take cash out and sing out you have zero in your bank account. I am so glad I put a stop to atleast 1 scammer.

There was much more back and forth. I really laid into him for saying he was Army.

According to some of the wording this scammer used he found my info on a painting forum. PT is the only forum I'm on so I'm sort of guessing some of you may have gotten this scam as well.

Crap like this makes me wish there was an app for reaching through the phone and giving someone a three finger punch to the neck. With a little practice you can pull out a good 6" of jugular vein. Which is pretty neat to see if you've never seen it. I wonder if that pos learned THAT trick in the Army?

The scammer is currently calling me pretty much every name in the book. I must have hurt his feelings. So sorry. better luck next time.

But yeah a good throat punch is in need.

I get those texts probably once a week, I just promptly text back, F*#K off.
I don't ever hear back, now, I wonder why?

That was great! Unfortunately, there must be a lot of A holes out there that would fall for this scam in the interest of gaining a few, supposedly, easy dollars. Nice win CD!

I knew it was a scam the second I read the text. I always mess with these morons. Why not. It can be funny.

Have you ever had your bank info or credit card number stolen? I have and it sucks. I lost over 5 grand in less than 15 minutes, granted the bank gave me my money back but it took ME 5 days to prove I didn't take the money, all the hoops my bank made me jump through. So any time I can keep one of these dirtbags tied up that is less of a chance of them getting someone to bite on the scam.

I'll just delet that stuff and move on. I don't need to make any enemies and don't want the hassle. If someone gets pissed off enough they can reallly mess with your business.

The only thing I have gotten lately is a message from a beautiful Nigerian Princess who is living incognito here in my town and needs to have her bedroom painted (woof!). She's sending me a check to cash for $5000 and I get to keep $2000 of it for only doing the one room. I'll send her the remaining $3000 because she can't do banking herself for fear of being recognized and then having international assassins close in on her. So basically, just the same old boring routine around here.

Did she send suggestive photos of herself in said bedroom?

I have learned that if they claim that if they claim they cannot talk on the phone (they usually give a reason of a recent operation or an illness) that they are scamming me.

Cd I had a similar scam this past summer. The guy actually called me on the phone after I string him on and without trying to be stereotypical, he sounded Nigerian. I'm pretty sure these guys operate overseas, they do their research online and use voip services to get local numbers.
