Save $300 or $400 more and get the finishpro 390. The 290 comes with a week gun which appears to be based on the SG series and the motor/fluid section look strikingly similar to the ones on the pumps at the despo.

I on the other hand have one.(a 390) It is a nice machine. You need to do lots of that kind of work to justify $2000.00.

Myself and 4 others have problems with the gun dripping. Mine has been rebuilt and still does it. So it you are doing horizontal surfaces, its a pain.

If there are any Graco reps on here, tell me what is wrong.

well i guess its a bit late past screaming at the graco rep if it is two years old. Depends on usage thou.......if it's like new that is a load of bologna and he should be doing something for you. I had a graco years ago that did the same.......spitting at trigger contact and release.....i phoned the rep because it was nearly brand new was nice but stern with him in saying i don't expect to buy anything new and have it not in proper working order less than a year in of light use. That would be like buying a car new and have the brake lock up on a tire........ya i know it happens but you get something in return for that happening........and in that case you would get it fixed.
Well anyways, a long story short he sent me 3 new tips and filters.......not exactly great but better than nothing.
So just phone him anyways, if you get nowhere with your rep phone another close one maybe. Some are better than others (or even catch a guy or gal on an off day and it don't matter what, they aren't going to be all pleasant sometimes)
Anyhow, just ask for some compensation.....if you have been a supporter of their products, that is the least they owe you for being loyal.

Good luck.

Actually before I bought the machine, my graco rep told me if I don't like it he'd buy it back.

Also told me if the gun contiues to drip, he'd rebuild it. I did it, it still drips.

Graco does not suck. Maybe some reps do, but Bob has been in this area and with Graco a very long time. We have built a relationship over those years. (which is most important.)

Like the machine. Other than the drip. Just have to be careful when doing horizontal pieces which are far and few.

Smile

did you tell him right after you had it rebuilt that is still dripped? if so, what did he say?

Yes your absolutely right, graco does not suck in the least. They are a very solid company. They got good stuff, it just sometimes aint always built right like a honda i once had (and they are supposed to run forever.....haaaaaaa)

Well good to hear you have developed a good relationship with your rep just make sure they are being fair about if you are a loyal customer of theirs.
