Depends on that accent you are going for. When I want to have a Cuban accent, I smoke a cigar. For a Russian accent, Stolies (vodka) does the trick. For a Mexican accent, I prefer tacos. Curry works well for an Indian accent...etc. You get the idea. Be creative.
I agree with free handing the cut in, I have not seen a taped line turn out as well in that area. Since the lighter color usually touches up better, I like to paint the other 3 walls first and then the accent wall, so any spatter from the accent color can be touched up easier.
