Yes and no. With no inside knowledge or data available, one can assume with general research that The PL designer white and SW high hide white are. The bases from both companies are slightly different in there tio2 content because of their respective color systems. Which both are similar to pro ind wb alkyd urethane which came from comex line.

It is a product based on the same resin package as Emerald but with P&L researched modification for better application and hardness. Different TiO2 levels and a somewhat faster cure time.

And what exactly would the advantage be of a straight repackaging of a successful SW product as a P&L product without letting the P&L dealers know it is a successful SW product? I don't understand the logic behind this. If P&L could sell a product to their dealers that was a big selling SW product, wouldn't it behoove them to let the dealers know so the dealers could have this knowledge to sell the product against SW? And undercut their prices if they want too? P&L reps get paid according to what amount they sell to their dealers and have no monetary responsibility to the SW stores and product whatsoever. So why wouldn't they want to sell more of that "identical" product by letting their dealers in on it.

The only people I have ever heard say that any P&L product was an "identical" product to a SW product have been straight up SW employees and their customers. So why would they tell their customers that P&L sells the same thing? So the customers WON'T BOTHER TRYING THE P&L PRODUCT AND THEY LOSE THE SALE! Common sense.

They most definitely cross-fill products.

They do cross-fill products within their Groups (Global Finishes, Stores Group, Diversified), but there's not as much cross-filling across the groups. Imagine if S-W product finishes got a hold of the ML Campbell formulas. The product finishes guys would cannibalize the diversified sales. Each group looks out for itself, almost like a separate company. Sometimes, a group may approach another and use the technology to go after a different sub-market.
