I am going to start running Porter Permanizer tomorrow. I'm primed, prepped and ready to go. They do not recommend tinkering with this product; but with temps in the mid 90's, I'm concerned with it setting up to fast. Any one have experience hitting Permanizer with a little water or extender to keep a wet edge. I don't know about you, but the name Permanizer sounds like a bad movie.
I would add the extender, but not the water. Be sure a check the warranty spec's on this. I have brushed the product with extender, not bad. Are you going to spray or just brush and roll?
Thanks for responding. I am going to brush. The way the house is cut up, spraying isn't that practical. I have been told that the Permanizer lays down really well when sprayed. I'll just work a couple of laps at a time to try to avoid roping.
as long as its not a real dark color dont have to worry about keeping a wet edge that much. Permanizer isnt cheap their acri shield line is actually better. I used it on 5 houses 3 years ago and not very good color retention
I have heard of guys putting an ice cube in their work pot. I haven't tried it.
I was given a gallon of the semi-gloss to test. It hit 105 that day. I applied it in direct sunny light and had no problems.
