Default Chaos Around my Work Location Today

Office that I was painting today is located on a street that has a set of train tracks going down the middle separating the two lanes of traffic. Around 2:00 this afternoon some guy decided to mess with the train that was going through town and came out on the losing end. It happened about fifty feet from where I was at. Still not sure if he stepped in front of it or was trying to jump on but regardless it didn't end well for him - not well at all. Must have been ten cop cars in the area and street cordoned off resulting in a major traffic snarl most of the rest of the afternoon.

Trains are dangerous and should be banned. At a minimum they should be restricted to hold a smaller amount of train cars.

Trains are not to be toyed with. Well, at least not the big ones.

a friend of mine is an engineer for CP rail here in B.C. Says stuff like this happens all the time. People jump in front of the train at the last second, stick there head under one of the car wheels, etc.

Build lots of walls to keep the trains contained

Yes! Oh and we're gonna make the train companies pay for it too.

That seems to be an issue around here. Last couple weeks like 4 people vs trains.

So what you are saying is that it wouldn't have made a mark?

Nah, just BSing.

Turns out it was a suicide and they caught it on a security camera from a nearby business. Apparently he appeared to be agitated and speaking to himself just before he dove under a freight car after the locomotive had passed by. Other than that, along with the guy's name and age, no other details.

Well, I told my wife about this, she says "are you sure he's serious or just joking?" I say he's a respectable guy, would not lie to his fellow paint talk members, he's a school teacher and business owner." "He's a moderator, he wouldn't say something specific and joke like that."

So call me a fool but that was just the second thing this week I never thought would happen...

It did really happen - except for the part about it being the Democratic Chairman of our county. That was just a bit of my dark twisted humor surfacing.
