Not true, only at the top of the whole of the country Not Per Capita. And again, pointing fingers will not save our progeny. Personally, I have no vested interest and really do not expect us humans to get it together collectively to lessen or mitigate the coming pain. My interest is purely academic!

You had better review your data...Saudi Arabia is at the top of the per capita list. It's population is small (32 million), while it's CO2 emissions are disproportionately large due to the fact a lot of refining takes place there.

Saudi Arabia is nowhere near the top of TOTAL CO2 emissions. They produce about 520 million tons compared to the US at 6,900 million tons and China at 10,000 million tons (all 2016 figures).

I don't have a dog in the fight either. But if we are going to throw facts around, they might as well be accurate! As Pac stated earlier, the main thing is every country should contribute to the cost, and without all main contributors of the pollution on board, success is unlikely.

Fine!! If that's how you read it, so be it!

Because you say it, that's how it is and that's the end of the story. Sure is good to have an expert to tell us all the truth of the matter. Now we can all sleep peacefully, knowing the problem is somewhere else. I feel so much better!

I'm just stating what the data collected on the topic is. It's not subject to my or anyones opinion. Pretty cut and dry, nothing to interpret. If the data shows Saudi Arabia to lead the way in per capita CO2 production, that's the case. We really don't need an expert to come to that conclusion. Just need to find the country that has the largest number in the per capita CO2 emissions column. And in studies that include Saudi Arabia, it's Saudi Arabia.

Hate the game, not the playa....

If you really want to keep plastic out of the oceans, do something about China dumping all their trash directly into it and stop trying to bilck billions out of American tax payers!
I guess some people are forgetting how New York City and Long Island used to have huge convoys of barges loaded to the brink with garbage and dumping it all at sea. A lot of that was plastic and rubber and sludge that is still out there polluting to this day. So don't blame it all on ASIA!

That table shows Saudi Arabia being #10 in total emissions, BUT it also shows they are #1 in per capita emissions. This has been my point all along.

Does this make sense to you?
