Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Do you make any special plans?

I would rather not. In my opinion, no any other holiday comes across as being so blatantly designed to benefit a relatively small group of businesses (jewelers, candy makers, florists, greeting card companies, and restaurants) as this one does.

But, I’ve been married for forty four years and would prefer to keep it that way so...

Just like New Year's Eve is for amateurs, I leave Valentine's Day for the amateurs too.

I'm with RH on this one but happy wife happy life. I've started a tradition where I get her a different long stem rose dipped in 24k gold that comes in all kinds of different colors from ihatestevensinger.com I gotta admit that it's pretty neat and make V-Day shopping nice and easy.

I got engaged on Valentine's Day in 1989 but I'm not one to really celebrate it much. Anything that is made to be a big deal is a no go for me. I mean, you can't even make reservations at a nice restaurant on V-day. Just a crazy money maker for lots of businesses like @RH said.

Actually, getting married on V-day would make good sense. Celebrate two at once, get em’ over with, and then relax a bit - at least until her birthday.

I know, I’m a romantic devil - ain’t I?
