Default Finally days off.

I took a long weekend this past weekend. All this 7 days a week finally caught up to me on Friday. I had zero energy. The rain helped, we do have interior work to do but I had to get away for a few days. We did some estimates Saturday other than that I was a lazy bum.

I will work twice as hard so I can be a lazy bum as often as possible.

Yeah me too, work hard then take it in the bum hard. Oohhhh no no I mean work hard then get hard for bum.. Oohhhh gawd,, well you know what I mean..

I find I used to be worried about work now I find I'm worried about to much work. I always say, I'll just say no, but then they pull me back in with a really cool job or something like that. You can't win, I sum it up to quality problems instead of bad problems.

Even my days off I'm still wide awake by 5am. Some times with nothing planned I would just work. The last 2 weekends I took off and feel much better. We are pretty much caught up on jobs and no pressing need in my mind to go in on weekends.

I forced myself to take some time off. I had to have a golf-ball sized cyst (sebaceous) removed from atop my right shoulder. It had been there for a very long time. I referred to it as my alien baby. Anyway, I think I have around 25 stitches, and will take a couple more days off as I don't want to tear any loose.

That means I will be lurking here even more. Fair warning, "dears."

Im surprised how many guys go 6 an 7 days a week...

Have u done any research into how much a guy can work before production starts slipping and mistakes happen? I know the union here has commisioned some high profile case studies, during which they track production on multiple crews\companies over extended periods of time. The results can be quite intriguing. Im sure RH or someone could post a link.

Dont take this the wrong way, but when I read some\a lot of ur threads I often think to myself that haste makes waste. I only worked one Saturday so far this year an I am lovin it. Goving ur self evenings an weekends to relax an refresh does wonders. I use that time to employ The Seven P's, and rarely if ever run into any snags in the production dept or handling customers.

Been a pretty smooth year and we're hoping for a record in the revenue dept, profits are waaay up. Its ironic when I reflect on the years when we worked 24 7 365 we let the pressure get to us and didnt even know it and didnt have a whole lot to show for it. Dog chasin its tail type of thing.
