![]() I vaguely remember seeing Trower back in the day (late 70's). The guy that really reminded me of a more controlled and lucid Hendrix was Frank Marino of Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush fame, or lack thereof. I saw them around 1980. Both were/are great guitarists.

![]() All of the concerts I saw in the 70's are pretty vague. My wife remembers them all, what we were wearing, where they were ,what car we drove, etc. Why is that? She was doing the same substances as I was( at least I thought so!) I do remember seeing the James Gang when they were first starting out(68 or 9?) at Gettysburg college. I believe it was in the cafeteria. This was before turning to the more serious mind altering substances than smoking pot. Also well before I met my wife, who , as it turned out, went to the same high school as I. We then met at college 2 years after graduating from high school. OK, enough of a stroll down memory lane .

![]() Heard Train on Howard Stern yesterday, they're releasing a complete cover album of Led Zeppelin II for charity and played The Lemon Song live. Has to be one of the best Zeppelin covers I've heard yet.

![]() The bassists is a very good friend of mine. This guy is a mad man. I was out on tour with him years ago for 2 years. The first band is who he is currently touring with, the second he just finished touring with. I have been asked by both bands if I had time to drive them on tour. Not this time around. One day again I think I will drive bands again, just right now no.

![]() Pink Talking Fish....The tall long haired guy is on our crew. If you into Fish, Talking Heads or Pink Floyd this is what they play. He tours the USA Thursday's through Sunday's with the band.

![]() In the past year I've bought both of my teenage kids record players. Every so often we hit the record stores and flea markets looking for albums. I usually am the one walking a out with an armload, since I know how much good music is available from the 'Album Era'. I picked this one up at a flea market today. A great find and it still sounds great 40 years later. Any one else in to vinyl these days?

![]() Great find. I have not added anything to my old collection of about 1,800 since they stopped making (or at least mostly stopped) them

![]() Nice. Always looking to add more tracks to my ipod for painting. What I've been doing recently is listening to audio books from audible. Painting while being inspired by Tony Robbins is a greattt vibe.

![]() My 21 year old daughter is into vinyl these days. She raids my old album stash every now and then when she is home. I buy her some once in awhile. What is irritating is the price of them now. I understand the pricing structure of a new record for a new artist but to charge high prices for a record that was engineered and masterd 40 years ago is gouging. I feel the same way about cd's when they came out. You can bet the artist's didn't get a new royalty agreement.

![]() Vinyl. There is nothing like it. If you have forgotten or never knew it, [re]discover it.
And while it has nothing to do with vinyl, I just caught the "return of the dreads" Rob Zombie and Korn show over the weekend. The show was opened by In this Moment which I unfortunately missed. Let me ask you this. It's on a Saturday. The doors to the venue open at 6:30pm. When do you figure the first band would go on? I'm thinking 7:30. You need to get the masses in, let them hit the bathroom, grab a beer and get settled. Doors at 6:30, first band at 6:40. WTH? This is why I missed them. I'm still pretty aggravated about that. Zombie and Korn were great though. Needless to say, I'm happiest working without any HOs around. My music choices don't always fit with "polite" company. |
