But what else is a PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate) material if not a drywall primer, sealer, treatment, or whatever you want to call it? And for the record, the painters I know who use it, also have the choice to use something else from their trusted suppliers. But they choose PVA every time.

And no, they don't shop at the Big Box stores.

Now that @daArch has downsized and survived (I presume), maybe I should start the grand purge too.

Is no one else gonna play???

Hey while I post this i'll ask a question of you guys... In the second picture; do you think that small triangle at the peak of the ceiling should be left ceiling or wall color? Fyi there will be 4 exposed rough cut trusses installed on the ceiling.

Today I finished an exterior repaint. Only about a 2000 sq. footer, block and aluminum siding. Everything went great except for this:

One exterior door had to be replaced, along with the brick molding and wood behind the molding (used to obtain desired opening size) due to rot. Customer had purchased a decent metal door (attached to frame that was included).

Yesterday I removed the door from the frame by removing the hinge pins. I then set it on saw horses outside, and sprayed the door with two coats, using a 314 fine finish tip. It came out really nice and smooth as the fur on a new born pup.

So today, after we remove the bad door and wood and replace with new pressure treated wood and install the new door, etc, I go to prime the new bare wood with Coverstain. I was using a throw away brush. Wrong move. I didn't get 2 feet down the left side when I noticed some splatter on the new door. I was being careful, I promise. So I threw away that piece of junk and finished priming with an almost brand new Purdy 1 1/2". Being mad for splattering that door, I then threw the new brush away. I didn't feel like cleaning it after that fiasco.

Thankfully I had a microfiber 1/4" roller I had just used to paint another door with the same color, so I touched up the splattered area.

Long story short...don't use a throw away brush (one of those made in China cheapos that cost like 2 bucks) near finished work!

Yes there is. But the damn things can be slow to pay.

Mizzou - ceiling color

End of last week and today and tomorrow, I'm doing some refinishing of the woodwork in a bedroom of a house built in the late 1800's. All Doug Fir. It's been an interesting job.

Going to start on painting the frame and other components for a Murphy bed on Wednesday. Definately had some variety in the types of jobs I've done these past few months.
