Interesting, but seems too good to be true. I have a good friend with his own auto repair shop and also builds race car engines. I will mention this to him and see what he thinks.

That was hilarious!

I've rode with those same type of bike riders on adventure races. Everything is true in that video!

The best part of the video for me was the beer recovery toast, with the one guy holding up a bottle of Bourbon. Classic!

I lean more to the mountainbike side of cycling but I do own a road bike and on more than one occasion while doing a group ride with serious roadies they seriously looked down their noses at me because I don't shave my legs, I was as fit or more fit than half of them. Roadies are a funny breed.

When I decided to ride a bike in my mid forties, I wasn't sure what discipline I would choose. So I ended up with a Bianchi Cyclocross that I could lift with one finger, just like in the video. But after taking it on some single track off road, and practically mangling it to pieces, I settled for strictly mountain biking.

I've been idle for almost four years now, but i want to get back into it. I have a Giant hard tail that has gotten me through several grueling races. The hardest being Lake Tahoe's adventure race in 2007, if I remember correctly.

I've snow boarded at some of the different areas out there in the Tahoe area. Unfortunately, I have not ever ridden there it is a beautiful area. I have raced a lot over the years but not this year... to busy with work, hopefully next year.

I'm the same, I've been mountain biking for 13-14 years, road riding only this year. I can't believe how judgemental these road guys are about looks or whatnot like shaving. One person I know says you can't wear a camelbak on road and don't dare have a visor on your helmet. They don't even want to be seen with you.
I have a 30+ year old motobecane 12 speed for street, I got for free. I've done 3 80-90 mile rides on it, and many shorter ones, what a challenge. My mountain bike is a 09 Cannondale Rize (ridesarize) "one", carbon fiber full suspension. Longest ride on that was 65 miles combo trail and road. No races I'm chicken..

In my younger days myself and a friend would spend a good part of the summer raising money for the MS150 bike tour at the end of September. It ran from Cherry Hill NJ to Ocean City NJ, 75 miles there and 75 miles back the following day.

We trained for it by biking to our fundraising stops which were sometimes 20 miles away through hilly terrain in the Poconos.

Some of my best teenage memories were forged from that bike tour it was an awesome thing to take part of. Total over the course for two summers we raised right around 7k.
