Ohhhhh. THAT polar vortex. We got 5inches last night. More on the way. In the 20's and dropping over the next few days. I'm going back to bed aka hibernation. Screw that mess.

74 degree change in temps from last week at this time.......
-14 to 60 in a week, wowzers. I imagine parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin are seeing 80 - 90 degree shifts in temps.

Yep, we had blizzard like conditions for days on end last week with -30C windchills. Now, a big thaw, +10C temps with rain. Lots of basements flooding out around town. Storm drains blocked up so streets are flooding. Crap thing is I've gotta empty out all my Mom's stuff out of my van to go get the rest of her furniture. No idea where I'm gonna put this stuff.

At least my son is enjoying the snow we got in Seattle yesterday. His pre-school was closed yesterday so I stayed home with him.

I can't tell you how much fun we kids had back in the day after a big snow. We lived across the street from a grocery store and their plows would build huge mounds of snow which we would sled down. As this was in there parking lot I'm not too sure it was the safest place to sled. But hey, no harm, no foul!

This was before the advent of helicopter parents.

missed the entire polar vortex laying in a hospital bed with some of the fastest developing pneumonia this hospital had ever seen. Got a chest x-ray wednesday morning and it showed a trace of pneumonia. Thursday morning i was in the emergency room in respiratory distress. Got out yesterday afternoon. Glad i missed the vortex though. Tough way to do it though.

Next week could be interesting. Theyíre forecasting 8-12 inches on Tuesday.

Depending on how days my sonís school is closed, I probably wonít be working very much.

Hereís what it looks like at my house this morning.
