Default Took a weekend off

Went up to Olympia for a WORCS series race this weekend. Ran the 40+ C class in the 4th race. 7th place outta 10 Probably could have done a little better, but...... I ride like a guy who has to be able to climb ladders the following Monday morning. http://atv.worcsracing.com/tracks.php?ID=48 Main thing.... I didnt get injured, and I had a damn good time. WORCS is a National Series and its night and day compared the the motocross series I do here locally. It was mainly a conquest thing for me. 50 minutes is a long time to be riding balls to the walls through the woods. The Pros do 120 minutes. I couldnt even imagine. I gotta say, watching those guys is very impressive though. This is a video from the same race 3 yrs ago. 90% of the race is in the woods. Only a small portion is on the MX track.

I gotta admit, old age is catching up with me. I'm always gonna ride, but at 47 I think my racing career is about over. Im in a lot of pain today. Feels damn good to be able to accomplish and complete something as brutal as an event like that though.

That's awesome Woodland! Looks like a lot of fun. Rob and I used to have Quads, he had a Banshee, we loved going to Glamis and pitching a tent and riding for days. Ah, to be young again!

One of these days I gotta hit Glamis. Been watching videos for years dreaming about it.

LOL Yeah, I had a girlfriend a while back who asked me... "How can you be so tired? All your doing is sitting on a quad riding?" I'm not sure how many miles the course was? Just guessing I would say 7 or 8 miles? Hard to say. 90% of it was in the woods and some of it was pretty technical. My fastest lap was 16:03 and I did 3 laps in 54:01 Just under an hour. The leader did 4 laps in one hour and one minute. Thats a good bit faster than me. In the Pro class was 120 minutes long and the leader did 11 laps and his fastest lap was a little over 11 minutes I cant even imagine. Thats hardcore. Anyway, no matter what class, its not for wussies thats for sure. As for the two strokes? That video is a few years old. I noticed the 2 strokes too. Must have been the "Shifter class" Didnt really see any two strokes out there this weekend except a couple old Honda 250Rs and not even sure if they ever even went out on the track.
