That's just one of the reasons we're into the fourth year of a moratorium on Christmas. It had started to turn into, "So, what family member is dying/getting divorced this Christmas?"

Bah, humbug, indeed.

I'm still alive. Carly loves the braclet. Gun next Christmas, maybe I'll get lucky as well.

A couple years ago i got my wife a leather steering wheel cover and she gave us both bad food poisoning. When the smell of leatherbcamr out of the wrapping paper it made the gift that much worse.

This year I gave her diamond earings. She seems to like them more

We finish up final CO on the house we designed and built. Christmas gift is that. I think it turned out pretty good. Got to do a lot of creative stuff with it and i think she is pretty happy. First year ive never gotten her anything under the tree.

This sure sounds like you guys ate the leather steering wheel cover. But I know you didn't. I hope.

From this point on every gift will seem like a down grade except that ring.

Completely new redesign for 2016. Online brochure looks sharp. All of the functionality of a minivan with none of the minivan styling. Large, versatile platform with none of the harsh truck-like ride quality of early generation SUVs.

Old adage was to never buy first model year of a vehicle, as there were supposedly increased recalls/repairs as they worked the kinks out and then implemented fixes for future model years.

Did you ever believe that to be the case in the past, or even currently with some brands?

I've always admired Japanese automakers, and found their reputation for reliability to be well earned.

Merry road-tripping.

Merry road-tripping.

I have a number of friends that helped build that Pilot just down the road from me in Lincoln, Alabama. Hard to think of many of the "foreign" makers as being foreign anymore. There are a lot of good Americans making a great wage building (what I still believe to be) the best on the road. We own an 05 Pilot and just bought a new CR-V that was built in East Liberty, Ohio. My Tundra has Alabama, Indiana and Florida roots.

And just so ya know...the jewelers are very capable at swapping stones. They can't go smaller, but they can ALWAYS go bigger. Just so you guys don't ever have to feel like you can't top your best gift. They're a very helpful lot those jewlers..... and what ring?

Just be aware that the De Beers marketing slogan, "A Diamond is Forever", has a much broader meaning in the industry. Buying diamonds retail is a one-way transaction; their resale value is a small fraction of the purchase price.

Turns out, the rear of a 2016 Honda Pilot has a lot of room
