Yeah, we see a good bit of that over there right now there's a guy who hired a painter that put latex over his oil trim. Now that its falling off the guy won't answer the phone. He's asking for advice on how to proceed.

Probably best to keep that stuff over there.

If I were to revisit that place, I would have a screen name like Steve Richards and pretend I lived in Colorado

NO WAY being able to be hunted down could be a good thing.

Another classic thread of mine hijacked... thanks guys.

Now on the topic of the derail, if we proceed, which could be possible since the added traffic may look tempting to ownership, the mods will have an extra workload for sure.

TJ, I don't see that as an issue. The rumor is that the mods will be getting a substantial increase in salaries. Cricket has indicated that the salaries may actually double! I'm no math wiz, but that's gotta be a good thing, right?

Doubling sounds pretty good, unless x=0. Right ?

I'm more than a bit confused why we would open up PT to non-trade pros. I thought that was the whole point of the DIY forums?

the THEORY is an "honorable" one. IF the HO's input could be limited to helpful and non combative feedback on how to interact with them, then we would benefit.

I think I've made it clear I don't have high expectations about how long it would take to be sliding down that slippery sewage spewed slope to hell.

Feel like it'd just become at outlet for people, like those idiotic review sites such as "pissed-off-consumer.productname.com" etc. Only ever attracts the worst of the worst.

As opposed to the well-reasoned and insightful discourse for which PT is known?

But those are our well-reasoned and insightful discourses!

(And at the end of the day, most of those are still from people who contribute something useful on a day to day basis. What you're likely to find are people coming here to vent and then leaving, which isn't useful to anyone. You might also find a lot of your actual dedicated members screwing right off once it starts)

Not to mention that a lot of us are both contractors and home owners.

I know that if I have someone out to the house for repairs I am well aware of what its like to sit on the other side of table.

It appears we have a consensus. And it's still cabin fever season. WOW
