I don't mind ads, but I hate using the actual site. I prefer using tapatalk or the paint talk app itself because it shows me what's being talked about most recently when I've found with the web browser I have to search each section to see

The apps are So much easier, for computer dummies like me anyway. But, there are a lot of things you can't access from the app such as full profile pages.

I think there is a way to view "new posts" on the web site, you just have to find the right place to click.

Using a lap top, I haven't noticed issues with ads disrupting pages.

Just a thought, when a new member introduces themselves, a way to help make this seem like an online community they may wish to become a part of, would be for more of the established members to post a brief welcome to them. I try to make a habit of it, as do a few others, but if more took just a few seconds to respond it might make a difference. Some might say, "It isn't my job to make others feel welcome at PT." Well, maybe not, but it really isn't that hard to do and it might make a difference in getting and keeping some quality members. I posted a welcome to a new member an hour and a half ago and so far I am still the only one to have done so. Not patting myself on the back at all you understand - just making a simple observation.

I know of a couple of people who suffer from that.

I don't see no ads.

Pure white borders all around and full screen of pure PT delight.

Another point is that this forum shoves advertisements down your throat. It takes up too much of the forum.
That forum sounds like it is run in a sensible manner. As for this forum, I see no advertisements. I use adblocker.

I see them off on the side but pretty much ignore them. No biggie IMO.

I think that's a good point, RH. I know I'm guilty of pretty much ignoring the introductions. And after reading your post, I recalled when I first joined here.
I'll pitch in here.

I remember when I first joined too. Bill was one of the first guys to be nice to me so I imprinted on him. Took me almost three years to deal with the after effects. Let's try and avoid that happening to any new members.

There was an issue with that some time ago, but it was resolved by Admin.
I don't use any type of ad blocker and the ads don't hamper my view or use of the site at all.
They're there on the sides (DeWalt at the moment), but they're not a hindrance in any way. With the iphone app, I don't see ads at all.

Oh hell no! I knew within a week or so, but by then the damage was done. The three years was the time it took for me to recover.

Are there ever any disagreements, or debates?
