Question Hey Nathan...

Could/would you consider allowing animated gif files for avatars? It's disabled just now. Maybe it's a bandwidth thing I dunno so I'll understand if the answer is

It's not bandwidth. There are two reasons I turned them off on most of our sites. First, they can be somewhat distracting when you trying to read through a thread.

But the real reason is that I had someone post a mini **** movie in one once and it kind of freaked me out. I've also seen a lot of other things done with them that I'd rather not have on my site. Hopefully that makes sense.

I can add them if everyone wants them. I would just need to hear from everyone that they are going to help me keep a look out for that stuff.

My **** movie wouldn't have been too hardcore

I'm not too fussy about it really. I just tried to use an animated one and the forum smacked my wrist. Thanks for the response anyway

All of the other forums I use have them enabled, and I make a pseudo hobby of using the most active gifs that I can find.
Yeah, I have no life.
Anywho I am putting in a "yes" vote for enabling the animated avatars.

Was in on CT where there was one that put a few people into epileptic seizures ??

I vote no.

Reasons:
  1. Distracting
  2. The few that would abuse will make monitoring them a pain
  3. I'm an old fart
