I just have to say, Cricket has been the best and most active administrator Paint Talk has ever had. Who doesn't think she's added value to this site with her participation and ideas? She's smart and creative, and that's what paint talk needs to go forward.

If anyone here thinks painters are strictly limited to roller selection, cut in lines, and invoicing options, they're sadly mistaken, in my opinion. And I think Cricket recognizes that.

It's always nice to see someone outside the industry who doesn't treat paint professionals like they're all washed up handymen.

Oh my gosh. You have no clue how much that means to me.

Payment is in the mail.

I view the trades as professionals and always have.

My background is in helping small business owners build their online presence in a successful manner. Although I am certainly no painter (I only know enough to call a professional painter when I need one) I believe I can help with other things involving the online portion of our members' businesses.

I see this site as a real community, not just another forum. I hope to plan some meetups in the future.

If I understand this right.
The vote is to 'keep' the program, or 'eliminate' the program. Two very distinct and opposite choices.
The 'keeps' get more votes,
The 'eliminates' get less votes.
The 'eliminates' win the election?
Lol

The non sequitur in your thinking is that this is a democracy. I doubt it was ever meant to be a democratic vote on what to do. Rather, it was a poll to see what the active/caring public thought about the situation.

Though I wish it was a democratic vote. I'm on your side XD

I have a feeling that this was not a "vote" in the strictest meaning of the word, in that the majority wins and the minority sucks eggs.

I think it was a poll to measure the enthusiasm for this type of awards contest. And face it, 58% of those caring enough to offer their opinion ain't a strong show of enthusiasm.

59 people have voted so far in the PPOTQ, yet only 31 people have had strong enough feelings to opine whether or not to keep it.

Most likely I'll come in a strong second in this first PPOTQ and yet I am so ambivalent about the contest, I have not voted. That's not an indication of strong enthusiasm.

59 percent for the record is a blowout.
A 59 percent approval rating any politician would brag
The vote number makes it appear close. It is not. 59 percent is a blowout.

Although I DO understand that you feel this is a vote akin to politicians, SIG's, and world affairs at stake, methinks you may have missed the point I was trying to make.
