Default Problems with quoting

I have seen some posts where the quotes are not formatting correctly. Trying to figure it out if it is operator error or something on the site?

I've seen it on posts from members that I know they know what they are doing, and it seems to be sporadic?

And now I can't find any! So if you see one, or have had that problem, let me know.

Or maybe it is just me?

I think this comes from people copying and pasting and forgetting to format everything correctly.

That image you posted above is missing a
which would make the first tag valid. I know that's a bit technical. Does that make sense at all?

When it happened to me yesterday, I was just quoting one person and when I hit refresh it fixed the problem so I thought it must of been a glitch on my end.

That's what I thought at first, but there are a few posts a couple of days ago (that I can't find now) that were from guys who quote all the time correctly. No biggie, we'll just keep an eye out for any new ones, thanks Nathan.

How ironic! The
in your post messed it up!

Look at post 16
https://www.painttalk.com/f4/budget-m...83/#post175681
Then I quoted post 16 in post 18. I cleaned it up a bit. I just figured people were editing the quote deleting some of the characters needed. Then some one quote the defective quote causing a chain reaction of broken quotes. I thought the seasoned member didn't care. It would bug me so I just fix it if I'm quote someone's mess up.

Post #16 has place. .[ at the and it's missing the /quote]. Without the last part it wont work and that's why it looks that way.
