Am improving our system but so far:
  1. Charge enough, and we charge a lot. Nobody in my area does it or advertises it and it is a pain. Most of my customers are people who tried it and threw in the towel. They hire us to relieve the pain.
  2. Use a sander to break through the facing.
  3. Dif's gel remover works really well, roll it on and move to the next area. I also use your "wet the wall and cover with plastic" method. (thanks for the tip )
  4. Manage expectations up front. (should be #1) Let them know that the walls may need to be patched, and that it should be oil primed. ( there's 2 extras we normally get) That you really don't know what is underneath until you remove a piece.
  5. Rent a drywall sander and vac setup from HD and get the roughest paper they have. It moves fast and sucks up an amazing amount of the debris from sanding the paper.
  6. Like anything else, develop a system.

I guess for some us it's just hard to get used to a forum setting, and we feel like we are supposed to answer to every question, but that may not be the case in reality. There are also sometimes when we post, a new inquiry is made and then we must post more for that too.

I know I'm not supposed to post as much anymore, because quite a few are mad at me and I was warned, so I guess I am the puppy in this story after all.

That was sooo last year.

The ebb and flow of this place is such, that a new target is born almost weekly. Just be ready to duck or move out of the way.

I have to admit, having this OP posted 1 hour after my arrival here, makes me a little nervous.
I'm not sure if I'm a puppy or a troll...but I think I might be both.

Yeah don't worry about it Steve, you're fine. Its easy to handle the big dogs on here, just throw em a bone once in awhile.

Is there more than 1 female mod here? (chicks dig me, and I can't help it)

Over on CT I absolutely KNOW I'm on thin ice. So far here, I'm just wandering around aimlessly, listening for cracks.

Oh come on, it's how we as painters bond in this forum. We talk about things, even things that don't relate to painting.

It's strange how life works out at times, I found this little puppy on the side of a road today, yelping, somebody just dropped it off in a field, I'm watching over it now like it's my own life til I find the owner who did this.

Thanks, but it's more of a... "not-wanting-to-talk-about-it-here-and-getting-myself-band-from-both-sites" thing.
