How does one make a Signature? Do you need to be a member for a certain period of time before the option is available or something like that?

We had to make some changes recently to prevent spam and I think that was one, you may need 15 posts. Go to User CP in the upper left and then look for "Edit Signature".

Is 15 posts still the amount of posts I need? Getting the SEO benefit from a link is certainly an incentive to get people to be active here, though I do see the reasoning behind only wanting to give it out to people that genuinly contribute.

sidingcontractors,

The SEO benefit is not as beneficial as some may think. Also, PT was not made just for SEO benefits, your presence here, if just for that reason, may not be overly welcomed by all.

Also, by having the url to your site in your sig, you open yourself up to abuse, stalking, and harassment by some real nut cases we've had visit this site.

This has happened to many here. One psychopath actually stole pictures of one of our members' children and posted them on a spoof site. Another spoof site of another member included hard core gay por nography .

And the owners of Paint Talk apparently could not take legal action for such abuse being initiated through this site.

So, I would think carefully about using PT as an advertising spring board .
