Yah, sometimes trying to sound impassioned comes across as sermonizing. Thanks for understanding

yes, i'm being bashed for my bi-day. Actually the date me mum decided to birth is just an excuse for a summer party.

I think everything that can be said has been, I agree that we need to set the bar higher. By "modeling" good posting behavior and reporting posts and redirecting lost souls we can do more for this forum than all the rules, requirements and regulations that Nathan can impose.

We have had some new people posting, many are long time lurkers, I encourage those to continue posting relevant content and thoughtfully.

There are always going to be DIY's and wannabes, they really do not know (well, maybe they do now!) how greatly they offend/affect us. Let's concentrate on the good parts here!

There is a saying on a travel commercial that I think of now
"We are never more ourselves than when we are anonymous!"

Thank you!

We have a good start with setting bar higher. Some of the ring leaders have left and that has made a big difference. I can tell you that it want be long before they are back, and it will start all over again. They will miss us, and our loving ways. They know that we still need streightning out and it's only time until we will get another visit.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Exactly

Instead of settling for this, we could strive to improve our esteem rating.

It is up to us.

I don't think anyone has any doubts about my confidence.

The difference between confidence in ones abilities, and arrogance is defined by humility.

One of the qualities of a true professional painter is humility. It is a trait that develops over time, forged by the lack of respect from many in the construction industry.

Painters who decide to operate their own business often benefit from this hard earned quality. Unfortunately, too many painters can’t handle the stigma associated with our trade. They simply decide to call themselves painting contractors as a means to gain a respect they thought unobtainable otherwise. Many of these guys are mistaken as hacks, when maybe their just underdeveloped painters. It is often their lack of humility that frustrates many.

The secret is, once you've suffered humility, you can truly become confident.

Having members like Vermont and NEPS to expose those deficiencies, will be sorely missed by this member

I don't understand, you talked about humility, and then use two members as the examples.
