BM used to have a special relationship with ACE; pricing and promotions and stocking and whatnot. Ben Moore products used to be available for order for the stores, straight through their normal Ace Warehouse ordering.
But now it's no different than independent retailers having to call up and place individual orders.

They still get Benjamin Moore-funded promotions that the other indie stores don't get and special advertising materials we don't get. However you want to call it, they still have a 'different' relationship than we do. They have more buying power and a corporate office to do bargaining with them. I can't say for sure whether their pricing is still different, but I'd almost guarantee it is. I know they still get BM funded promos because they just had one a few months ago. Otherwise, all BM promotions/sales are dealer funded.

If anything, Ace is getting the crap end of the deal. The BM prices at the Ace I worked at and others I've stopped at have always been higher than prices at the independent store I work at now or the other stores we do business with.

I'm pretty sure they run with the same MAP we do; I could be wrong there, though. If they do have a higher MAP that's fine with me I'm just jealous of the BM-funded promos since we never get any
