Default Any other states have a program like this?

We have always had Metro Paint Recycling here in Portland. Our tax dollars pay for it and they resell the remanufactured paint.

As of today, we now also have this PaintCare

Now we get to pay an additional $.75 per gallon for paint, so they can still recycle it and still resell it. What a great deal for painters! (not)

The main thing that upsets me the most is the double taxation. Happens with just about everything else so why not paint?

Do any of you guys box ( book ) your old paint together? Taking similar colors regardless of finish and mixing them in 5's? I have a few of my guys that do this, or i'll do it for them. I can even re-tint some of the 5's if they want the color changed to match something else. They'll use it for family, friends, neighbors, or someone looking for a deal....rental property, basement, garage, etc etc.

My old boss used to do this on occasion but usually paint was left with the customer, they paid for it so it's theirs. Actually I think the only time he mixed paint was if he was going to use it as a primer on a garage or something.
