Default Anyone having results paying for Yelp?

I have read the posts on here about the filter issue and I my self have been frustrated over that very issue. Now Yelp is all over me to spend $300 per month for paid pop ups and their enhanced program. Has anyone paid for this upgrade from the free program and had good results?

Comments appreciated.

I have never paid anything. Why don't you try thumbtack.com. my wife signed me up. They rank pretty good. just don't claim any of those widgets until you qualified for the elite member badge so your appear on the first 12 or 15 main spots. if you decide to sign up click on this link so I can earn some credits

Hi AC
I know the top Yelp referred painter in my area, he got in early and it kept snowballing. He gets tons of leads but it's all organic. He said he would never pay for Yelp, unless they changed up their system to run more like AL. There's no advantage now to being listed first on yelp unless you have a bunch of good reviews. And if you have a bunch of reviews, you will already come up high. I finally got my first yelp review last month. Their rep had been relentless in trying to sign me up until I got quite blunt.

I would never pay Yelp. Google organic is where its at. Spending 30 minutes per day on on common SEO methods, and were #1 organic result for "house painting", if you live in my town....
