Default Aura Matte On Residential Repaints

Hello all,

I had an opportunity to spread 4 gallons of Aura Matte today and was very impressed with a few things...

I had zero flashing on my repairs and did not need to use a primer.

I saw almost zero angular burnishing and had consistent sheen when looking at the wall in the sun.

Lastly it had excellent coverage rate.

So my question is how do you sell Aura to your customers without scaring them with the $60.00 price tag per gallon?

I don't. They don't care what brand of paint it is. They care about the job turning out good and hassle free.

I save on labor costs by using a higher priced/ higher quality paint like aura anyways. That's better than saving 100 bucks or whatever on the paint I use.

I get great paint from KM or Kelly Moor or Parker paint for half the cost. I bid out the job use the paint that will do the Job. In fact I bet if a bind test was done here with every one no labels on the cans of paint the Other small name brands will do just as well as BM and or SW.

A blind test wouldn't work. I know how each brand smells.

Labor. If I have to do two coats of $30 paint or one coat of $60 paint for the same result, which is cheaper?

I am going to use that aura brochure and tell clients to use BM paint, $75/hr is required or the paint will fail.

Aura or Behr or what ever ? your still running 2 coats . I ran bright red today in a faux previous painted dark purple color . Sanded it , had some fortis 350 semi gloss
Ohara red left over from another job. Roll freaking 3 coats still bleed through!! should of primed it . Went got some Behr eggshell
Still didn't cover . In 2 coats . What a mess
I will try some aura this year when I get a chance . I do love their paint . You guys all really don't care what I write any way maybe cuz I like Behr or something I mean really hands down Behr ultra is better than duration home any day of the week . That paint is really hard to use .

@Wood: do you use Aura on a regular basis? You regularly only do one coat with Aura for your customers?
