How about looking at the CR thing this way-name one publishing company that only publishes one magazine or book. Just one. Doesn't sound very profitable does it?

Not that I'm taking one side or the other in this debate, nor have I ever picked up a copy of CR. However, a quick google search just returned that CR is published by Consumers Union which is a non profit advocacy org and that magazine was the only one I could find that they publish.

Just throwing that out there. Again, I've never once looked at the magazine.

Hey try this! Google "paint and primer in one" and see what comes up! Millions of websites claiming it actually exists! Something isn't it! Boy are we all stoopid!

So why did you ask your question in the first place? If you believe the CR rating, just use the f*cking behr! Jesus. Why are you wasting our time?

I don't mind the occasional charity job, but for crying out loud, buy something that's easy to work with! For example, BM regal select lays down like a warm cozy cat on a frigid winter day.
The last two times I used it I had the same mispleasure...runs and sags everywhere.

"My customer wants me to use Behr, and Consumer Reports says it's the bestest paint there is and I think Consumer Reports is correct so how do I talk my customer out of using Behr?" Sounds kind of silly doesn't it? Are you an expert painter or is your customer? Or is Consumer Reports? Grab the bull by the horns and either give in or tell them you use the paint that works best for you or there is an extra charge. Simple.

Just tell em if you want a diy product, a diy finish and a diy price then here's the bucket and have a nice day. If you want a professional product and a professional finish it comes with a professional price and once an agreement has been made and the contract has been signed, you'll be happy to get it on the schedule. There is no arguing. A diy will eat cr crap up because they're naive. Either they trust your judgment as a professional or they dont. The ho pays for the paint so who cares what the price is. You're not in the business of selling paint, you're selling a service and a (hopefully) quality product. If you're not confident about the materials to provide what you're selling, then don't do it. You're not gonna win the indy 500 driving a prius.
