At least he was honest. Around here most will lie throught their teeth with some absurd number of years they've been painting. Always check references and job history....along with a valid DL.

For some reason painters are a little weird... they think if you painted ten years ago, stopped and did something else, start painting again, the years in between still count as painting experience.

Sounds like my father in law, he worked at a factory forever and just piddled with painting and he says he has 30 years experience. I started working with him 7 years ago and knew more then him and was faster then him in less then 6 months. They think as long as you do a side job that year then that year counts as a year of experience.

In that case then I have about 28 years experience. Because when I was 8 I sprayed my chrome bicycle with kryon spray cans.

my math skills are deficient when I have'nt had my morning coffee. I do have a Bacherlors degree in Accounting, however. So I must not be that bad overall. Although there has been some grade inflation...

I'm sure you just misread it. I always thought he was way older than 36, maybe I'm confusing him with someone else. I normally just lurk on here. BTW, it would be nice if someone chimed in on my Graffiti thread.
