Default Children and paint

Do you ever bring your son or daughter on site?
Do they love to peel the dried paint from the paint tray?
I know I do. It's the sort of thing a kid would be fascinated by.

I thought I was the only one that did that! When I roll out samples I always let the liner dry overnight and peel the dried paint out! It's amazing how much you can learn about a paint that way. Like how crappy it really is.

It's kind of like getting bubble wrap in a shipment. You just gotta pop it.

I was looking at a skin that I pulled off the other day it had about 20 coats. I often tell people that acrylic paint chemically bonds with other acrylic paint. Well I could see how it did that by looking at a cross section of the build up of paint from my tray.

Yes. I take my Son to work about twice a month. More in the Summer months.

He is a big help. Especially for setting up and cleaning up. Learning to fill and sand is his current step in training.

Plus, he is great company. However, my Mother warned me I would have a child that talks more than me some day. She was right. He has a lot of technical interests that he wants to talk about. I some times wonder if I'm listening to a scientist.

I think it is important for children and teens to understand the efforts their parents go to to provide. I hope to instill work ethic, skill and experience into him.

Both of my boys used to enjoy going to work with me. Now they're adults. And they hate painting.lol
