Default Christmas Break

Well I can say officially I won't be throwing on the whites for 5 days straight!!!! It was supposed to be eleven straight but we weren't able to get the colour selections on a house until today so I arranged to work Tuesday Wednesday of next week instead of making them wait 2 weeks for the work to be completed. I have not took this long of a break since last november 2008. It was worth working OT all week to finish up 6 seperate jobs. Merry Xmas to all, and how long are you shutting down for?

Cheers,

Wes

I do not think there is ever a day that there is no work that could be done in the office. At the very least, it could always use more organizing (and the shop). We are done until Monday, when we will finish up a job. And then it is cross our fingers for 2010 and home the phones turn back on after the new year.

I've taken most of this week off. I've put in a few hours here and there for scheduled estimates or invoicing/etc. As far as 'putting on the whites' goes, I'm done until January 4 baby! whooo!

I kind of wanted to be slow, but it isn't working for me! Coupla hours tomorrow fixing up some plaster then I'll probably have some eves after the regular job next week!
I really thought starting this year (09) that I'd be sucking wind at this point, but in the last few months it has noticeably been ramping up. I'm good ( for the most part) into April I think!

Won't be putting on the whites until Jan 3
Kinda weird having to find (blue) jeans and (colored) shirts and stuff after nearly a year of working every day

I've discovered I have twice as many white shirts and pants as colored ones
Actually far more than 2x, if you discount the "civies" that are now "beyond repair"

End of year office work and ordering material for a large ins. resto fire job. Need to have it wrapped up before the end of January.

Trying to get my home office finished and set up to transfer everything to it in Feb.

I usually spend the break cleaning the office, getting taxes and stuff organized. We also try to get away for some golf as well.
Rob has been home sick, no whites or jeans, just jammies for a week! So I have been playing nursemaid! Can't get a thing done
Help me before I do something I'll regret!

Some guys are just like that. I prefer to be left alone. Give him the remote, a box of kleenex, and a bottle of juice and he'll be fine. Baby him and you'll create your own monster...if you havent already.

Been doing odds and sods in the house today and for the rest of this week.
I shall also be tidying up the back of the van
Repairing any broken stuff, i.e. site lights, heat guns etc.
I shall also be doing my bookwork before I get fined from the IRS.

May even give the van a wash due to my lazy ar5ed mate who owns a vehicle valeting service, who cannot be bothered to clean my van from two months ago

I'm itching to return to work

RCP - give him an Xbox, a beer or 9, tissues, then offer a catheter so he doesn't have to move at all.
The catheter will get him up bouncing around again for sure.
As you can tell from the start of my post

We both rarely get sick, I like to be left alone and he fusses over me and drives me crazy! He had the stomach flu and then a bad reaction to meds unrelated to flu. Can't sleep, can't keep food in his body, mood swings, almost ended up in the hospital Christmas day. Plus trying to finish up several jobs, the guys are doing a great job, but I am on the phone all day!
Thanks for letting me rant!

Mood swings?!? Sounds like he caught something "good". Might be best to get him to a Dr. just to be safe. Since I went out of the bucket and to half days the wife and I have had more time together....one of us has some "adjusting" to do. (Of course, I dont think it's me) I hope Rob is feeling better and things get back to normal for both of you.
