Hi guys,
New member here. I own and operate a small custom wood shop, mostly doing cabinetry. I have invested into learning and using Sherwin William's Kem Aqua Plus over the past few years and have really grown to like the product.
I make up my own dye stains using the Sher-Wood Universal dye concentrates and use these dye stains underneath clear kem aqua plus regularly. Up until now I've always done my cabinets in a clear over stain, or using the standard kem aqua plus in white. However, I have a designer wanting a certain shade of grey. My SW rep says I can't use the dye concentrates to actually tint the base kem aqua plus in white and that I need to have him do the match in store. My issue is that it will take a gallon of a custom color in this kem aqua plus every time I want to do a sample.
How do you guys deal with this with tinting solid colored lacquers? Does anyone tint their own kem aqua in house or do I really have to go back to the store every time a color correction is needed.
