Default colour theory.

Hi guys. could anyone tell me some good books that would improve my grasp on colour in decoration? It's a sadly lacking skill in most painters and something we could all work on.
cheers.

Howdy PaulinGrad,

It's "Coach Dave", I'm a plant expert, Do-it-yourself kind of guy. There are lot's of places for ideas on how color and decor works. I use this site to help me with ideas. Take a look and see if it "inspires" you too.

Paint Inspiration is about colors that go together:

I have a theory that HOs ask my opinion on color solely to have me reinforce the feelings they already have.

I don't know of any specific books, but I'm sure if you google it you'll find something.

Here is a video that I produced as a starting point.

Is there any particular aspect of colour theory you are after?
  • Colour harmonies
  • Colour matching
  • Munsell Sysrem
  • Shade, tint, tone and value
  • Hue
  • Chroma

Try and test your existing knowledge with this test I made: Colour Test

My profession is training painting & decorating, I am more then happy to help out where I can.

I have embedded some videos from PQI on my site as well - http://www.pacificpainters.com/index...d-Paint-Colour

Man, I did not notice the date....

Holy crap, how did that happen?

I am blaming:
  • CoachDave
  • Gibberish45
  • One Coat Coverage
  • ProWallGuy

I suppose I should accept some of the blame as well.
