That's right, I like this Pinche already. F-it, caught you in a little bendy of the truth brother, no worries. Don't try and impress, just be real. I've posted some of the my worst work pics on here, and for some reason people still give me credit every once in a while. Hang in there buddy Welcome to the Forum!

Maybe the old timer committed suicide because he bought to much crap that he did not need instead of just buying what he needed.

Good to tough out the thread instead of trying to take your ball and running along. PT is a tough place sometimes but it also has a wealth of experience that is shared in the threads. I personally feel if the partner story is the cover up and the original is more the truth than you definitely owe it to the guys to make sure they are covered because the guys need to know you are taking care of them and looking after their interests, if you fail to do that then they will quickly lose interest in your interests. Either way stick around and you will get a good insight into the pains and pleasures of owning a small business.

Okay, if I owe you an apology - so be it. Quite possible I misread the whole OP, but as stated, I've heard similar stories so many times it isn't even funny. I always believed that taking care of my employees was one of my first responsibilities. I can recall sitting at lunch with the guys hearing comparisons of past employers, and mentally shaking my head. I've never been one to bad-mouth another contractor out loud no matter what my personal feelings were. But hey, we've all made a post or two we wish we hadn't here....

the way i see it, if money is tight, maybe let whoever is in on the job know-going in- that their check is tied to The Check.
You guys that have enough working capital etc., hey, my respect for sure.
I have worked for GC's, you dont get paid until they do.
how many you guys get stuffed by them 1 time or another?
It runs downhill

yes, we are the bottom feeders, but still making a dollar over taking a handout

prices are down (obviously)
The US is how many trillion in the hole?
How much really big debt defaulted on in the past three yrs?
Banks lending money on mob terms, or not at all ( only slight exaggeration )

and this dude gets crucified for being a few days tight on cash?
sounds like he has a good line on some cheap goods that will help him grow.

carry on Gordo. Just communicate as well as you can. Most people can deal w/ the truth when they know it going in

I like it that Pinch has think skin, and was able to take a beating and still post here. Kudos for that.
