Default Glidden Professional Store??

Long story short, we had to paint some chair rail & shadow boxes in a NC after the home had been painted by another company. They were using Promaster semi on the trim, so we had to make a trip to their store to pick up another gallon (upstate NY). Contractor pricing for paint & supplies is highly competitive for a standalone paint store. Has anybody done business with one of these stores/used their products? Just curious as we may consider doing business with them over sherwin williams due to the large difference in pricing & supplies. BTW was pretty impressed with the promaster semi, covered, leveled nice and was able to lay a thick coat without runs. Also have loved the gripper primer they put out too.

Gripper is a great adhesion primer.

If Promaster is equivlant to Lifemaster we have here in Canada, you have yourself a great product... We get really great pricing on it here, and I cannot complain one bit about the service i get.

I'm pretty sure it used to be a Glidden/Dulux outlet store. The service we got in there compared to other stores was awesome, very knowledgeable about their products.

It is the only store I use. The products have never let me down and the pricing is good.

Lol I almost forgot to post a comment. I havent used Glidden in a long time, but from what I recall it was a decnt paint. I was curious because its been over 20 years, but it seems like I remember actual Glidden stores back when I lived in Atlanta? We were using Duron but also used Glidden from time to time and Lowes didnt even exist back then. Lowes is about the only place I see it now.

When I lived in Las Vegas we mostly used Dunn Edwards. We also used quite a bit of Ameritone and sometimes Frazee. You guys staying busy down there? I heard the housing market in Vegas took a real hard hit.

it is most likely dulux diamond semi. akzo nobel manufactures glidden and a host of other products. they have many names for the same product in NA and Europe.

I'm not familiar with Promaster but have been using Lifemaster consistently for years. I've also had good results with the Ulta Hide line, which is now called 150. And you can't go wrong with Gripper. I get much better price consistency from Glidden than SW and also find the product knowledge far superior from the Glidden employees than whoever they hired to work the desk at SW this particular week.
