Default Hey Bill....

I was just going through my files looking for something and came across my old application packet to the NGPP from 2003. I never did join, but was going through it and came across an old issue of 'The Installer" and noticed that you were the editor.

Just wanted to give you props for a well put together issue. I know you have had your problems with the Guild, but its obvious you put a lot of time and effort into it. Just wanted to give you a thumbs ups!

Thank you Paul,

Yup that was when I was drinking the Kool-aid. I did have a lot of fun doing the Newsletter. We had decided that it was going to be a newsletter for and by the members with no fluff content added by management. Me and the communications committee (which included PWG) had total control. (Drove management nuts ). We collected the articles from members, edited everything, and laid it out. I prolly spent over 50 hours on each issue when all was said and done. (maybe more)

Butted heads with management a lot, but had support of the then president. In the end they (management) had the last laugh.

Lot of good memories doing something that I was REAL proud of. In the end I did suffer from extreme burn-out. But the feedback from members was worth it.

BTW, which issue? Some were better than others.

October/November 2003. Volume 27, Issue 5. I did enjoy reading it though. Maybe part of it was I looked through it first to see if you were mentioned. When I saw that you were the editor, I kind of got all "star struck".

I have signed original copies for all who want them. Price increases as does demand

Paul, looks like that was the third one we put out. Obviously with the write up about the convention, they would be sending that to prospective members. That was best Convention I attended.

Got a little secret for you, if the article doesn't have a byline most likely the editor wrote it.

well, and then there's the one by Vinny. Let's just say he can't write his way out of a sandbox, there was a bit of polishing on that turd, and that's being diplomatic.

How about a PT newsletter?

Or get on the Blogging Painters. I think they could use a little help.

No, she has all paper mail, magazines, etc plus the pencils, pens, and printers used to produce them,

Electronic archives are so much less space, at least my house is not a fire or rescue hazard - - - just my brain.

I believe there were two going on simultaneously. We were at the one with Bob I. (may he RIP), Buffy, Joe Parker, and a few floaters.

The other was Mike Z and some others loose with their money.

I can't remember what I lost and what I won, but it wasn't big either way. It wasn't about the money, it was the classic remarks that still ring in my ears. Worth every penny I prolly lost.

Also, I was too worried about the laser dot on Joe's forehead coming from the grassy knoll and knowing this was Jim Turner's home town.

That was before stuff got too serious, before having poker games became politically incorrect. I miss those days.
