Tastes great, less filling.

Am I missing something here? Don't contractors and homeowners pay this same 26.96 per gallon price at HD? Call it retail or whatever, I get BM Ultra Spec 500 semi gloss for around 24, As far as a significant painters discount from HD on that 26.96

And of course the running problems where the roll overlapped the cut that seem to be a common issue with Behr paint.

I haven't used this stuff much, an am trying to keep an open mind despite the bashing it takes from many pros. I know some pros swear by it, so there must be something to that. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to apply it yet, the few times I have tried have been way less than satisfactory.

Ahh, your right I do feel better
Sounds like fun. I only used the semi that one time. It was the one that had a lot of descriptive names on the label. I think it had primer in it.......

Customer satisfaction is my angle. People seem to like their cheap paint and cigarettes.

Did you ever go into a customers garage or basement and see the paints they've used themselves or by other painters they hired? 90% of the time it's Behr, Valspar or Olympic. And if it's BM or SW, in most cases, it's pro mar or super spec. Very rarely do you see Regal / Aura or Super Paint / Cashmere / Emerald sitting on a HO shelves.

Now I am assuming that you only use the highest priced premium paints. Or am I generously giving you credit?

The only thing I really liked about using it was it was really easy to apply and I didn't have to go into HD to get it. Maybe it was my brushing abilities combined with my quality proform brush. Who knows. But I could also feel the the paint putting it on and could tell it wasn't going to hold up that great. You could feel the lack of body and soul.

I would have rather used Regal, Aura, or Superpaint. It would have felt less dirty to me.

This was an exterior.

Guys are paying too much for paint. U need to approach ur suppliers in a different way. I am not a business. I can buy paint for lots less than most of what I see guys paying on here. Crazy. Talk to the man behind the counter for crying out loud. Put it on Rixhmonds account and pay cash. You both make out, lol

Well. Not Rixhmond. But u should get the idea. Easey peasey.

My thread title sure is ironic now, considering.

I'm not going to lie though, I like drama sometimes. Especially when I can log off when I've had enough of it.

customers satisfaction comes in many levels ...

some customers like shopping WalMart ...
some like flea markets ...
some like garage sales ...

others have to go to the mall ....
some like 7-11 coffee
and many will on drink starbucks coffee

some painters like blow & go apt
some like sub work

many like playing it safe & working for others

It's all good ... to each his own

but for me i found out years ago there a plenty of homeowners that will pay good money for a quality paint job ... i perfer to work for a HO who has the money to spend for quality

But 1 thing for sure is if you think you can bid against me and win your wrong ...
show up at 1 of my customers house telling them your using box store paint and giving them a low ball price will get you out the door fast

just different customers thats all ... it's all good

I was explicit with my Job Details.
HO is moving furniture.
The rooms are all around 12x14. Victorian home.

I get super paint at around the same price as Behr Premium Plus Ultra. Which is $32 per gall, so my prices would be the same with Behr Ultra or Super Paint.

Sorry for the confusion but you did quote me.

If your customers are shopping around for other prices, that's not a slap in the face? I mean, do we have the same understanding, as to what customers are? My definition of "my customers" are person(s) that are using my services. I don't call a person who calls for a free estimate. "my customer".

Here are some pics of one of the rooms. Lots of skim coating.

Repaint,

Slowly I am learning that it ain't worth the effort to keep stating your case to those who would not understand. Those of us who are at your level and on the same wavelength already agree, and that's all that matters.

as frustrating as I have found it, some things just can't be taught on the internet.

(and next time you see me pissing in the wind, remind me of this post )
