Default I didn't know this was a thing!

Peel and stick paint samples!!!
Madness. I don't dare tell any customers about this. I can imagine ordering the samples, they take forever to ship, wrong colors, they don't come off the wall, etc. https://samplize.com/

I had a customer that used them. The company they used made samples for BM and SW. Seems like it would be easiers to get paint samples.

so, are their tint machines perfectly calibrated to every SW,BM,F&B tint machine in the world? No? Then there will be tinted paint somewhere that will not match their samples. Then what? Who is responsible? Not SW. Not BM. Not F&B. Do you think these people are going to accept responsibility for the variations that WILL happen when tinting the "same" color on several different tint machines? Because if it's tinted at an SW store and it matches THEIR sample than someone is out of luck. No matter what they say it is still a third party sample AND color match, so no paint manufacturer is going to be liable for inaccuracies.
Not a good idea. Never has been. That's why all the people who have tried this same thing in the past are LOOOONG gone!

Yes, but that one lady so delicately and lovingly caressed that sample with her fingers when applying to the wall, I'm sure these peel and stick samples will be a huge hit with the decorinas and people who need six or seven color samples in order to make a decision. We could be in for a world of pain.

@PACman is spot on. Total waste of time since their color matching system isnít calibrated to the stores tint machines youíre buying from.

I just saw these new "stick on samples" also.
If I were a betting man (and I play the stock market) my money would be against them catching on.

I've seen those somewhere. That could be a good idea. Avoids having 10 little samples painted on one wall. Plus you could move them around and check the color in different light sources. AND it would give the decorinas something to waste their time on before they waste mine.

That's what I currently do with my draw downs, I advertise them to the design firms. I don't charge for the 8x10 charts but if I had nice fancy ones.... seems like you could make some healthy margins on them.

here's what i'm talking about. A grey primered disc you paint with whatever paint you want to try and stick it on your wall. The fact that they are grey and circles tells me the person who came up with them might have known what they were doing!

and of course the rectangular, clear Home Depot version that has pretty mixed reviews and appears to have been discontinued already.

Swatch Right is a product I designed and fabricate. The first batch came off the line in 2010 and I've been painting, using, and shipping them for 9 years - way before all the other peel and stick squares.

I've shipped thousands of circles. Never once issued a refund. To my knowledge, a decal has never damaged a wall.

The idea for Swatch Right was born out of necessity. My clients are tough. Many have tried and dismissed the free color consultants from every local store and fired at least one interior designer.

Putting another square of color in front them simply isn't an option.

My approach to color has to be different. Swatch Right is a big part of that unique value proposition.

I also use the decals to sell custom designed paint colors in my online store. We paint the colors on Swatch Rights and ship the custom mixed formulas ready to peel-stick-and-preview.

Whoever said they should be charging for the fancy ones vs. draw downs because there is a margin to be made, you are absolutely right.

Which is why I'm still painting circles 9 years later.

If you have any questions, I'm happy to share.

Yeah because it's better to make $10.00 on a few hundred then $5.00 on a few million right? That's why there's Amazon. Let them be the idiots to sell millions of them at a smaller mark-up. The fools! It will NEVER work!

Am I the only one who goes to the dollar store, and buys poster board, and paints samples on it, so they can move it around as they please?

I had to explain to one of my designers that taping off squares on the wall, and painting to the tapes edge on all of them was a really bad idea. There 5 squares permanently embedded in a clients wall now...
