I did something similar a few years ago. I was working at a distribution center for one of the big hardware chains that sells Valspar and Olympic, loading a trailer on my forklift with squeeze clamps. First rule was- Never pick up pallets with squeeze clamps. I was good at operating this machine, so naturally I thought this rule didnt pertain to me. I picked the pallet up, and placed it on top of a pallet of 5'ers. when I released the clamps, I had too much pressure pushing down on the pallet and both clamps cut through four 5 gallon buckets of paint. It was like an explosion of paint in the trailer- Everything was covered, walls, floor, roof, and all the product in the trailer. fastest paint job i ever did.
Mgmt. took pictures for their presentations to new hires of what NOT to do. And surprisingly, I didn't even get a slap on the wrist for it. The guy who had to clean it up, said it was the worst spill he's ever seen. Ahhhh, the good times.

I'm thinking now, maybe I should put some plastic over the bulkhead in my van after looking at those pictures.......

That is why pickups are better than vans. The mess will never reach the driver!

The most I have had spill at one time in my van is a 10ltr tub of emulsion (latex). I swore for feckin England that day. I left a trail over a mile long and when I got to my home and opened the back doors it looked like a Tsunami had passed thru

You just don't get as much coverage on the HO's walls as you do in the back of your van
