I've done a fair number of black doors over the years and, like a black car, they look great when clean. But it's tough keeping them that way. They will also tend to show scuffs and scratches easily.

And black will also show substrate flaws like dings, planer chatter, and sanding scratches more than any other color. The glossier the paint, the more careful the prep. We usually figure in an additional coat so we can carefully block the door before the final coats.
Looks good. Soft-gloss MoorGlo? I like it on the man doors better than the garage doors, but it gives that house an overall classy look. What's with the red-eye text in one of the pics?
Not really semi. Its its own animal and youve got to try it. $62+ gal though
You know those vinyl coated garage doors that feel all plasticky? When dry, this paint feels like that. I make my clients touch it to feel the quality
It keeps that crisp look for a very long time. we painted this one 4 years ago, photo taken yesterday
Now when you spray to garage doors do you paint the top and bottom of each panel. As in as the door is going up and you see the top and bottom edges.
I did one years ago in a dark burgundy with resilence, allowed a hole day before closing tight and all the edges still stuck!
Of course SW had my back(NOT). After several more attempts I finally had to put an adhesion primer on the edges and repaint. It still stuck but not as bad.
I don't have the answer but 2 things come to mind, shooting a light coat or two so that it doesn't stick as easily or finding an aerosol color that matches or is close enough. Just a thought...
