Default #@%$*^!!! Lesson inside.

Sorry no pics

I went to pick up a startup check today from a customer. She had a nearly new 5 gal bucket of paint for me to preprint the pieces I will be replacing on her home. More of a finished piece this way, minimal visual rebuild present.

Anyway, she had had it opened at some point, the rim was paint covered and sealed the lid on, but made it hard to actual click down/lock to bucket. I didn't even check when I grabbed it. The lid never moved until I swung it up into the tailgate of my truck.

Here I am stopping by QUICKLY in nice clothes and I have an open 5 now on its side in my truck. I saw it pouring down the back so I quickly stuck the 5 under the tail gate and proceeded to scope it all out.. letting it just run down my roll pan and into the bucket.

I managed to save about 3.75gal of it, not that i can do anything with it now.. but at least it wasn't out on the ground somewhere. The homeowner felt bad and grabbed a hose, pulled up into their rock driveway and hosed the inside out.

What a deal. So I guess the morale of the story is to always check your lids before you mess with the (any size) container. I always do but was just in a hurry.

Ego bruised but not beaten

lol

Lesson learned. Maybe the best thing next time is to put the whole thing in a heavy duty trash bag and tie it shut. Good thing she had gravel , but be careful I have seen these gravel beds drain right to the gutter.
