I suppose a mod should close this thread and direct old doc to contractortalk.com and mention that this site is only for professional paint contractors, but we can let him slide for now

Unfortunately I think some of the negative reputations and lack of respect for the "painter" has been earned. The guy with the "$45/ room" on his truck telling everybody that "their painter sucks" isn't helping.
Very true. Exhibiting a professional level of skills, appearance, and attitude will usually result in being treated accordingly. If you come in looking and acting like a Kurt Cobain wanna be, well...

Look at all the external-validation-needy painters responding to this.

You guys need some self-actualization time.

Paint will forever run through my veins.

You can take the paperhanger out of the paint, but you can't take the paint out of the paperhanger.

Gentlemen;
I would like to thank the moderators for the " temporary visa" and their tolerance of a perhaps misguided but benign old geezer. I'm sure it was the "spirit of the season" and their realization that this thread posted anywhere else would not be relevent. I stand by my comments, and respect the fact that this board is for you, not me. Goodbye and good luck.

Doc,

You've got a life time pass as far as I'm concerned. Come back as you please if you need questions answered or just to shoot the sh!t. And by the rules, we don't even have to pretend to make an exception. You are in a trade that is related to the coatings industry. You build it so we can paint or paper it.

Thank you for your visit. You obviously are a good man.

Thank you. Well, since almost all of our contracts state that our paint grade material be supplied PRIMED, we may actually have more of a relationship than one would think...

Not an exaggeration... I print off all my posts that recieve one and frame them.
They go on the wall next to my "Pee-Wee Herman" (AKA Paul Reubens) mug shot collection and "Jo-Jo the Dog Faced Boy" memorabilia.
