Default Regal Select goes Zero VOC!?

My rep told me today that Regal Select will be zero VOC soon. Has anyone else heard this or seen it on shelves yet?

I've heard that also. But then again the rumor mill has been going full speed with Moore's the last few years.

If Regal Select goes Zero there is no point to have Natura on the shelves and most dealers wouldn't stock it because Regal has a long history and very good reputation.

I have heard that there is more to Natura than just zero voc. It also made from more renewable resources, extra filtering of some kind or another compared to other paints, etc. So, even though the others are going zero VOC, it is still greener and the others may have exempt chemicals that Natura does not have.

Its weird. Ive been running a lot of Natura lately. You can tell its a great quality paint. High solids, great hide, coverage and adhesion. I can't believe it covered a deep red in white in two.

I also have intentionally pushed the limits over stains and it was a blocker.

Then I just got done using promar200 zero and duration. Promar had a smell to it. Duration was mediocre compared Natura.

Ive used the new regal and it was good, don't get me wrong. But natura is on the same level as aura. Its like the zero voc version.

Yeah. But the eggshell is pretty low sheen for egg.

I love Regal but on bigger houses it really messes up my sinuses. I am hoping the rumors are true. Until then I'm gonna start using Natura especiallyafter everyone's positive feedback here. I used pro mar 200 zero voc today and it just looks cheap IMO.

That's why they are killing Natura...because you are using a lot of it and you really like it. Don't feel bad, they do it to me too.

I went to my local BenMoore, and it seemed to me that Natura was still alive and kicking.

Natura isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Ben Moore is supposedly working on a new marketing campaign to promote it, try to undo some of the damage to its reputation from the odor problem it suffered from several years ago.

I used regal select for the first time this past week, the eggshell was as thick as cake batter, when I poured some into the tray and cutting can it didn't even drip down the outside but the coverage SUCKED! I had to do three coats where with natura or aura would have covered in 2. Thick paint ends up drying translucent on the cutlines, after every coat it just covered a tiny bit more.
Then I used some pearl on the trim and it behaved like normal paint, the right viscosity, covered well enough.
I hope I never have to run into the regal select eggshell again. Funny this is a customer that would happily pay for Aura and they sold her regal at BM.
Bit of a head-shaker
